The movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival where it got rave reviews. Because of Vince's performance in QB, James Cameron hired him to play Aquaman in the superhero movie he was directing. After the box office success of Aquaman, Queens Boulevard is picked up for national release in order to capitalize on Vince's newfound stardom. However, Vince and Billy were displeased with the neon re-colorization of the film (it was originally shot in black and white) and thus blocked the film's national release. It would later be released on DVD.
