His most notable service was during the Grand Marshal Crisis, the Thrawn Crisis and the Disciples of Ragnos crisis. Caminus would play pivotal roles particularly during the Grand Marshal Crisis, aiding in the evacuation of Yavin 4, and battling the Marshal together with Luke Skywalker, amongst other Jedi. He would later participate in the Yuuzhan Vong war, but was killed during the Battle of Gyndine. His teachings still lived on and were key to improving the Jedi Praxeum, and he was given a Medal of Honor posthumously. He had one son, Orem al-Amel.
