The 903rd Star Corps was a Grand Army of the Republic unit that fought during the Clone Wars on the planet of Iktotch, under command of General Alix Balan. Though the battle was a Republic victory, the general became disillusioned with the Republic and defected with his whole unit to it. There was some minor resistance from several clone troopers who disagreed with his views, however, most of the unit was willing to defect, as earlier, a higher ranking general had ordered them to commit several atrocities against the natives. The 903rd was reformed by the Confederacy of Independent Systems after the defection into the Republic Liberation Army, and it's ranks were soon filled with other defecting soldiers from the Republic, not just those of the 903rd.
