| - Death the Kid is the younger son of Lord Death and one of the main protagonists in Soul Eater. He suffers from OCD (Obessive Compulsion Disorder) for Symmetry which is actually from his father being the madness embodiment of Law and Order. He is voiced by Mamoru Miyano in the Japanese version of the anime and Todd Haberkorn in the English version, both of whom also voice Ling Yao.

- Death the Kid (デス・ザ・キッド, Desu za Kiddo), commonly referred to as simply Kid, is the second son of Death himself and the Meister of the Demon Twin Guns, Liz Thompson and Patty Thompson. Created from a piece of Death himself, Death the Kid is known to be one of the top 3 EAT-level fighters in the DWMA. After his father's death at the connection of the Lines of Sanzu and Asura's defeat on the Moon, he inherits his late father's position as leader and headmaster of the DWMA as well as his name, Shinigami (死神) with the "-sama" suffix as a term of respect. He is one of the main protagonists in Soul Eater.

He is determined to bring forth a perfect world, with an absolute balance of good and evil, and is often described as the perfect boy. - Death the Kid is the son of the Grim Reaper Lord Death of the Eight Old Ones, created from a fragment from Death's soul much like his older brother Kishin Asura. As a consequence, wanting to follow in Death's footsteps in protecting the world, Kid inherited his father's Madness of Order which influenced his obsessive-compulsive disorder for perfect symmetry. This resulted in Kid turning down many Magic Weapon partners until he went to New York to dispatch a pair of trouble-makers named Elizabeth "Liz" and Patricia "Patti/Patty" Thompson.
