  • Tuesday is the day after Monday and before Wednesday. It's the 2nd day of the week if you start the week on Monday but Tuesday is the 3rd day of the week if you start from Sunday. Tuesday is connected with the Roman god Mars and the Nordic god Tiw. Mars and Tiw were both gods of war. The English word, Tuesday is connected with the name of Tiw or Tyr. According to the myth the gods wanted to bind a dangerous wolf that was prophesied to kill Odin himself. Tiw/Tyr had only one hand because as an act of noble self sacrifice Tiw/Tyr put his other hand into the mouth of the dangerous wolf while the other gods bound the wolf. The wolf bit Tiw/Tyr's hand off.

  • Many things can happen on Tuesday; sometimes things don't happen. But what makes Tuesday special is that it is the one day of the week when opinions do not change, regardless of what happens or doesn't happen.
