  • Polyphemus is the second of three gas giants and the fourth planet orbiting the star Alpha Centauri A (ACA) in the Alpha Centauri System, the other Gas Giants being aptly named Alpha Centauri and Omega Centauri. Slightly smaller and denser than Jupiter, Polyphemus has no rings and fourteen moons, the most notable being Pandora. Originally, the planet's name was Coeus.
  • Polyphemus is the second of three gas giants orbiting Alpha Centauri A (ACA).
  • Polyphemus, or Cyclops, is one of the uncivilized cyclopes whose island Odysseus comes to soon after leaving Troy. Polyphemus imprisons Odysseus and his crew and tries to eat them, but Odysseus blinds him through a clever ruse and manages to escape. In doing so, however, Odysseus angers Polyphemus's father, Poseidon.
  • Polyphemus appears during the "Flight" mission of the Saradomin Strikes campaign. During the campaign, Polyphemus fights alongside soldiers such as the pyrelord Pazuzu in east Misthalin, near what is now Varrock. Polyphemus ultimately meets his death during the battle(although the player can choose not to kill him in the mission). Polyphemus's name is taken from a cyclops in The Odyssey, a real-world Greek epic poem attributed to the writer Homer.

Grover calls him Clopsies in the film adaptation of The Sea of Monsters.

  • Polyphemus was the cyclops son of Poseidon. He was blinded by Ulysses during their fight in his cave, after the trojan war was over.
  • Polyphemus the cyclops is a mythical one-eyed beast, and one of the sons of Poseidon, as featured in The Odyssey. Polyphemus first appears returning to his cave with his flock of sheep, sealing the entrance with a boulder. There, he finds Odysseus and his men eating his food. Angered, he eats one of Odysseus' men. As he prepares to strike again, Odysseus offers him some wine he had brought with him. Ployphemus enjoys the drink and asks Odysseus his name. He gives the name "Nobody" and the drunk cyclops passes out. The men then sharpen a stick and drive it into the giant's eye, blinding him. Polyphemus screams for his brothers, claiming that "Nobody" has blinded him. Believing this to be a joke, the other Cyclops do not respond. Polyphemus tries to catch Odysseus and his men but they sneak
  • Polyphemus was discovered by Odysseus and his crew when they landed on the shores of the island of the Cyclops during their voyage across the seas - the men had sought refuge in his cave only to find themselves imprisoned by Polyphemus when he returned from tending to his flock of sheep, he blocked the entrance to his cave and begins to mercilessly kill two of Odysseus' men before devouring them. Polyphemus yelled out in pain and called to his fellow Cyclops to come to his aid, stating that "nobody" had harmed him - the other Cyclops thought that he had gone mad and ignored his pleas.
  • Polyphemus was an extrasolar asteroid that penetrated the Solar System sometime during the 1900s. It remained undetected, due to its distance from Earth, until the 1990s when it began to approach Jupiter. It unexpectedly crashed into one of Jupiter's moons - the 1986VG1 Ulysses. Ulysses and Polyphemus were both separated into thousands of smaller meteors that were launched into a trajectory which would collide with Earth in mid-1999.
  • Polyphemus was a cyclops military leader active during the God Wars. Unlike most cyclops, Polyphemus was not a follower of the deity Bandos, and instead opted to follow the former Mahjarrat general Zamorak. Polyphemus appears only in the FunOrb game Armies of Gielinor, and as such the canonicity of his exploits remains debatable.
  • In Homer's Odyssey (Book 9), Odysseus lands on the Island of the Cyclopes during his journey home from the Trojan War. He takes with him twelve men to find food and drink, and they eventually find a large cave, which is the home of the great Cyclops Polyphemus. When Polyphemus returns home with his flocks and finds Odysseus and his men, he blocks the cave entrance with a great stone, trapping the remaining Greeks inside. Polyphemus then crushes and immediately devours two of his men for his meal. It is said that "rapping them on the ground, he knocked them dead like pups".
