Quetzalcoatl is one of the "giant aliens" that Dr. Nicholas Ballard encountered when he found a Crystal skull at a dig in Belize. He was encountered by SG-1 in 2000 during a mission to P7X-377 in which Dr. Daniel Jackson discovered a second Crystal skull identical to the one found in Belize. After returning to P7X-377, replacing the skull, and Teal'c leaving (because of his symbiote), SG-1 and Nick Ballard were dimensionally shifted so that they might meet the Omeyocan, being greeted by none other than Quetzalcoatl. Quetzalcoatl offered Nick the chance to stay with them as it was not the first time Nick had been there and he accepted. (SG1: "Crystal Skull")

Although some prominent Mexican-American scholars such as Mario Lopez claim the Quetzal distinction is actually derived from the corruption of the name of noted shopping mall pretzel eatery Wetzel's and the inability of Hispanic people to pronounce the "Weh" sound despite their affinity for hanging around shopping mall food courts. Still, some prominent North American and European, Hispanic Culture and American History scholars insist that the name is derived from the sound a Mayan husband would make when he discovered his wife was going shoppi

However they were often disappointed on how their messages were misunderstood and distorted in the process of time. This tribe, the Aztecs, came to worship Quetzalcoatl as a god following his departure. While Quetzalcoatl had originally preached a message of peace to the tribe, the Aztecs used Quetzalcoatl to justify sacrificing a large number of humans over the years.

  • Quetzalcoatl is the god of the Aztecs and hippies. Like Mohammed and Charles Darwin, he is a false god. We know Quetzalcoatl is a false god because he is half bird and half snake. Seriously, how stupid is that? The God of America, who will make everyone disappear at the end of the world and leave their clothes behind, is so much more rational. It is unclear how anyone could think otherwise. This article is a stub. You can get a Tip of the Hat* from Stephen by adding only truthiness to it.*Tip of the Hat not guaranteed.

  • Zuhixtli looked down upon the prisoners, brought back by the latest Garland War. He watched them file, defeated, up the steps of the Pyramid of the Quetzalcoatl, stripped of their feathers and armour. The priests continued the ceremony with great solemnity, opening their chests and removing the pulsing hearts with serene elegance. The screams of the dying fell gently over the watching populace, and blood soaked down the temple's plastered steps. Auehmoc came up behind him. "Brother, the ceremony is almost over. But dark portents have been seen in the city." "What has been seen, brother Auehmoc?"
  • Quetzalcoatl is an Aztec sky and creator god. The name is a combination of quetzal, a brightly colored Mesoamerican bird, and coatl, meaning serpent. The name was also taken on by various ancient leaders. Due to their cyclical view of time and the tendency of leaders to revise histories to support their rule, many events and attributes attributed to Quetzalcoatl are exceedingly difficult to separate from the political leaders that took this name on themselves. Quetzalcoatl is often referred to as The Feathered Serpent, connected to the planet Venus and was also the patron god of the Aztec priesthood, of learning and knowledge. Today Quetzalcoatl is arguably the best known Aztec deity, and is often thought to have been the principal Aztec god. However, Quetzalcoatl is one of several importa
