| - Fūma shuriken(風魔手裏剣) (also known as the "shadow windmill shuriken" or the "Japanese boomerang" or the "windmill of death") is a fictional weapon sometimes seen in Japanese popular culture media. Fūma literally translates to "wind demon". It is an enormous shuriken, which the user holds by the hole at the center of the weapon. It has four blades that sometimes can be sheathed as one, creating a sort of dagger. This particular type of shuriken is seen in the Japanese anime and manga such as Naruto and Negima (where Kaede Nagase uses a particularly large version), and in the video games like Ninja Gaiden (as the "windmill shuriken") and Ninja Blade. It also appears in Final Fantasy IV, as an item for use with Edge's "throw" ability, in Final Fantasy VII as a primary weapon of Yuffie Kisaragi, and in Final Fantasy XI. The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG has a card based on the shuriken that, appropriately, can only be used with ninja monsters. In the video game Ragnarok Online the ninja class is able to wield several variations of fūma shuriken for slashing and can also use the "throw fūma shuriken" skill as a small area of effect ranged attack. In the manga and anime Soul Eater, Tsubaki Nakatsukasa is able to actually transform into one. In some cases, as the one of Nene in the video game Samurai Warriors 2, the four bladed shuriken can be halved, so it creates two daggers, useful for the two-dagger kunoichi technique. In the video game series Samurai Shodown, Basara Kubikiri uses a similar weapon called the "crazy blade", which is a three-bladed chain-shuriken that can be held by the hole at the center.
