Upon realizing that Meru had a scar on the side of her face, Basso attempted to have the woman removed for being "imperfect", but was stopped by Gul Dukat, who healed the scar with a dermal regenerator.

Dort werden unter Anderem Kira Meru und die Kira Nerys, die mittels Drehkörper der Zeit aus dem Jahr 2374 in die Vergangenheit reist und sich dort Luma Rahl nennt, gezwungen, mit nach Terok Nor zu kommen. Auf der Station weist Basso ihnen Quartiere zu. Auch sonst ist der Bajoraner für die Frauen verantwortlich und muss dafür sorgen, dass diese sich gut benehmen. Wenn eine der Frauen dies nicht tut, wird sie bestraft. So wird unter Anderem Nerys aus dem cardassianischen Bereich der Station entfernt, nachdem sie gegen die Regeln verstoßen hat.
