The Pharaoh is a protagonist in The Book of Genesis. Do not confuse him with the Pharaoh in The Book of Exodus because this Pharaoh is the ancestor of the evil Pharaoh in Moses' time. The Pharaoh in The Book of Genesis is a good natured man who wisely rules Egypt. He is prepared to forgive others, such as when he releases Joseph from prison and he gives his Butler the job back after disobeying him.
