A molecule is a particle containing two or more atoms. If it contains only one type of atom it is called an element. An exception to this is diatomic gases (for example: Oxygen, O2, where the molecule contains two atoms of the same element, bonded covalently. If it contains two or more different types of element which are bonded it is called a compound.

  • Molecules are similar in plastics and fats causing plastic to absorb flavors.
  • A molecule is a stable, electrically neutral group of at least two atoms in a definite arrangement held together by strong chemical bond(s). Molecules can often have special arrangements which contribute to their strength. Molecular structure may refer to how molecules choose to group together. A Tetrahedral structure will mean the molecules will arrange themselves in the shape of a tetrahedron, usually with perfection.

  • A Molecule is what happens when several different Atoms decide they like each other and get together to form a Chemical compound. Some atoms are snobbish and don't form bonds with other atoms easily, argon and neon are examples. Other atoms really like each other and form strong bonds.
  • A molecule is two or more atoms that lack an electrical charge and are held together by a strong chemical bond. Doctor Curum told Colonel Wilcox and the Dynamic Duo that the atoms and molecules in Astronaut Ellis' body were all rearranged and condensed, which is what caused him to shrink.
  • Molecule was one of several young heroes abducted by the Terror Titans on behalf of the Dark Side Club. Feeling as if Molecule could not possibly be of any use to the Dark Side Club, the Terror Titan known as the Persuader sliced him in half with her axe, killing him.
  • In chemistry, a molecule is defined as a sufficiently stable neutral group of at least two atoms in a definite arrangement held together by very strong chemical bonds.

  • A molecule is the smallest unit of matter which still retains its properties. Molecules made up of the same atom are referred to as elements; those made up of different atoms are called compounds. Its power and inherent instability, however, has caused the Federation to ban all research pertaining to this molecule, and to issue the Omega Directive, requiring the immediate destruction of any such molecules discovered. (VOY: "The Omega Directive") In 2151, Lieutenant Malcolm Reed stated he was apprehensive of using the transporter and having his molecules compressed. (ENT: "Broken Bow") Dr. Leonard McCoy would mimic this attitude in the latter half of the 23rd century, though he referred to the scattering of his atoms. (TOS: "Space Seed" )
