Biography
  • John Preston is a former NASCAR driver from Wyalusing, PA. He competed in six Nationwide Series events in his career. Preston's debut came in 1997, when he competed at Dover. Starting 36th in the field of forty-two, Preston fell out of the race late but still managed a respectable 24th place finish. It would prove to be his career-best effort. Preston moved it up to a two race schedule in 1998, starting the year off at Loudon. It was a tough race for the driver, crashing early and finishing 40th. He fared little better at Nazareth, crashing to 32nd. Preston had a similiar schedule in 1999, starting the year off back at Nazareth. He had a stellar run in qualifying, starting 10th before slipping back to 27th in the race . He also ran at Watkins Glen, but struggled to fall many laps off the pace and finished 38th. Preston's final career race came in 2000, when he returned to Nazareth. Starting last this go round, Preston came up seven laps short of the lead lap and finished a so-so 31st place.
