- Gumbo is very tall and skin is the color red. He has black combed hair. His eyes, mouth, nose, and eyebrows are very similar to Gumby's. In many ways, Gumby resembles him.

Later in the episode, Jake and Gumbo capture Launchpad McQuack. It turns out that Gumbo has a sweet tooth for Launchpad's brownies. Darkwing hears the commotion and comes in to find Launchpad gone. He figures out that Jake took him and goes after them.

It consists primarily of a strong stock, meat or shellfish, a thickener, and the vegetable "holy trinity" of celery, bell peppers, and onion. Traditionally, one of the key ingredients has been okra, the African plant okingumbo, from which the dish originally took its name. However, today gumbo has evolved to the point where it is often made without the inclusion of okra.
