  • The Longbow are the main peace-keeping force of Paragon City in the M.M.O. City of Heroes. The standard weapon of the Longbow are assault rifles and pistols. In addition to firearms the Longbow carry a variety of gadgets such as smoke bombs, grappling-nets, oil slick pellets and automatic turrets. The Longbow's outfits are bullet, fire, and blunt force resistant, allowing them to stand toe-tot-toe with super-powered criminals. The Longbow have rocket-packs but are not always equipped with them. The police need to focus most of their efforts in the danger-areas like The Hollows, Faultline and Perez Park. Paragon City welcomes all super-powered, or just determined citizens and encourages them to ply their services to the public safety by fighting the many super-powered threats that stalk the city. But with the police indisposed and volunteers working on their own itinerary, Paragon needs a specialized force to fight super-powered crime and to this end the Longbow are essential. The Longbow patrol around Paragon, looking for crime. Every formal unit of Longbow has at-least one Nullifer member, a Longbow equipped with a stun-gun that neutralizes a wide variety of super-powers momentarily. The city's most decorated heroes, The Freedom Phalanx, work independently of the city and under their own directives, but the Longbow still man most of The Freedom Phalanx's bases. Though The Freedom Phalanx is privately run and the Longbow are publicly owned, the two organizations work hand-in-hand.
