Drones are the Chimera's robotic and unmanned flying units, first seen in Resistance 2, but appear earlier in the storyline, appearing in Resistance: Retribution and Resistance: Burning Skies. It appears that the Chimera abandoned the usage of Mines and replaced them with Drones. Much like the Chimera, Drones have multiple yellow eyes-possibly used for purely aesthetic reasons, since the Drones could easily function with just one. Another possibility is that the machines use the multiple eyes to allow thermal imaging or night vision.

  • As in the insect world, so it is in the world of the Marro. It is a hierarchical structure; some lead, some fight, others work. In the Marro hierarchy, drones are the lowest. Nearly mindless brutes, Marro Drones perform all the heavy labor required. It is not worth the effort of developing advanced biological weapons for them, and thus they are given slashing spears, simple to manufacture and to use. In battle, they are herded forward in large expendable groups as cannon fodder. Often these groups will just mill about aimlessly, only some of the drones moving towards the enemy. But at times a group mentality will take hold and the entire horde will charge towards the enemy as one, posing a great threat.

  • Drones are a species in The Conduit and Conduit 2. Originally thought to be an alien species, Drones are actually part of the Drudge that were a Human-Progenitor hybrid species, genetically created by The Trust. John Adams was using them in his Drudge army to invade Washington, D.C. Drones often emerge from conduits throughout the game. They're humanoid creatures that carry weapons, most notably the Drudge weapon called the Strike Rifle.

  • While progressing through the orbit, you will find that any equipped drone starts earning experience points just as you do and has a max level of 6. Any available ship is capable of having a total of 10 drones equipped at the same time. Also while having a maxed out level 6 drone, you gain an additional 10% damage and 20% shield boost to the laser cannons or shield generators that are equipped to the level 6 drone. Extra CPUs cannot be boosted. Please visit the Drone Formations page for more info about the available formations for drones.

  • A drone acts as a vampire's companion, servant, caretaker, and willing food source (blood). There can also be a sexual component to the relationship. Drones receive payment for their services in the possibility of becoming vampires themselves and/or in patronage for their particular form of art. Drones tend to be artistic types that create behind the scenes: painters, poets, sculptors, etc. Their werewolf counterparts are the clavigers.
  • Drones were small, remotely piloted flying machines used on Poseidos. At least one of the sites where drones were piloted from was Roff Stricker's flight school. They had sleek, black frames and a large, red camera eye. At least some were armed with shock pulses.

  • A drone is a male honeybee whose main function is to mate with the queen.
  • Drones are unmanned - usually aerial - vehicles that serve in a variety of support and attack roles, and may carry these out automatically or under strict supervision by their commander. Drones are armed with various devices and weapon systems, depending on their role. So, in essence, while drones can be also automata, not all drones are.

  • The Drone was one of the many subspecies that collectively made up The Swarm. Utilised as basic infantry forces, the Drone was the most commonly encountered Swarm subspecies and considered by many as representing 'the face of the enemy'- Drones were the most humanoid of the Swarm's diverse forms and thus the ones most easily depicted as the enemy. Encountered in battle as shock troops, 'cannon fodder' and vehicle crews, Drones were formidable opponents, intelligent, cunning and vicious in the extreme.
  • Drones are the Martian Kamikaze attack Vehicles. It is never made clear whether they are piloted or controlled by remote but it can be asuumed that they are piloted due to the voice over when selected.
  • Drones were young K'Chain Che'Malle, typically hundreds of identical "copies" bred as blank slates which could become more specialized. "A drone was a paltry construct, difficult to work with, an appalling challenge to physically transform, to awaken with the necessary intelligence required to take command." ―description of a drone
  • The WESPE drone is an unmanned combat aircraft controlled by a basic AI unit. It was developed in the late 40s by Dr. Ludwig Wald, one of Germania's top radio engineers, as a way to efficiently survey large areas of Nazi-controlled cities from above without requiring a human component. Since then, it has been enhanced with numerous abilities, such as power-efficient laser cannons and ramjet engines. By 1960 a handful of Drones, presumably modified to operate above the lunar surface, had been deployed to guard the exterior of the Nazi moon base.
  • Dominion marines have been known to engage in drone punting competitions. Drones possess limited combat ability, but in a swarm, they can present a significant threat, attacking with claws and spines.
  • In the First Robotech War, QF-300E Ghost fighter drones were used to defend against the invading Zentraedi warriors attacking Macross Island alongside Veritech fighters. By the Third Robotech War, the Robotech Expeditionary Force developed Shadow Drones, based on the Alpha fighter frame, for use against the Invid. These automated machines were created to evade Invid detection and were part of the assault on Reflex Point in 2044.

  • Drones are small unmanned ships used by larger vessels to augment a ship's sensor efficiency, and when needed defend the ship from enemy attack. These devices link to the ship they belong to and with each other; however, since drones are designed to be relatively small, they rarely possess sophisticated command and control functions. They are most effective when directed by an Artificial Intelligence. It is for this reason that drone technology was primarily used during the pre-Fall period, before the cultural and scientific horrors of the Long Night. There are 2 main types of drones, Combat Drones and Sensor Drones. Depending on the model, there is a degree of overlap between the 2 types.
  • Drones are generic vehicles that are not (and do not want to be) involved in the carnage. They feature in Carmageddon II and Carmageddon TDR 2000. The traffic in Carma2 and CarmaTDR drive around preset paths, and come to a halt when struck; they then behave as accessories. Drones are not deformable, destructible, highly detailed or visible on maps. There are a few different types, such as hatchbacks, and buses. They simply serve to breathe life into the levels (while the player is busy trying to remove it) and get in the way.

  • The Drone is an adult form of the species Xenomorph XX121, often said to be the most basic adult caste. It is a loyal servant for the Queen, but essentially represents the lowliest class of Xenomorph, comparable to a worker ant. Drones construct Xenomorph Hives, using a resin-like secretion that they produce, and collect hosts for impregnation. Drones are easily identified by their smooth head carapaces, among the smoothest of all Xenomorphs, and they are capable of spitting cysts of acidic blood at their enemies. They average around 8 feet tall when standing on hind legs, and about 14–15 feet long, tail included.
  • Drones are the Zerg worker strain. The primary purpose of this strain is to harvest materials and build bases. Unlike the other races that construct buildings, Drones morph into structures by manipulating their genetic structure. Relatively a low level threat, they can become several times more deadly if exposed to certain mutagens. Some mutant strains can digest any form of matter into creep. This mutation also makes them more ravenous than a Defiler to the point of attacking larger strains and Terran mechs. Special abilities:
  • Drones are susceptible to EMP attacks, so EMP ammo and grenades work well against them. They can also be remotely hacked, buying you time to escape or take them out permanently. Like most electronic bots, one can shoot them with several EMP rounds to build up cool down time before they return to their hostile states.{| class="va-mbox" style="border-left: 10px solid orange; background: #0D0D0D; padding: 5px 10px; font-size: 90%; margin: 1.5em;" |- !
  • A Drone is an automated robotic spacecraft designed to augment a ship's arsenal in combat, or assist with mining operations. Drones are carried aboard a drone bay available in most ships, and controlled by that ship, or (in advanced cases) delegated to other ships in the owner's fleet. A skilled operator can launch multiple drones to create a miniature fleet all of their own. Drones fall into several major classes: Some drones cannot be used to affect the owner's ship. Use of the repair drones constitutes an "attack" -- use of them on an "enemy" ship will therefore invoke Concord retaliation.
  • It is featured on all cell phones manufactured by Badger, Whiz Wireless and, strangely, BitterSweet. BitterSweet's drone phone is based upon the Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini or Samsung Galaxy Ace 2. Its main competitor is iFruit OS, which is featured on iFruit phones. Drone is humorously described as copying the iFruit, similar to the real world accusations of some Android phone makers, such as Samsung, whose phone models are also represented in the game, copying Apple.
  • Drone anatomy is actually quite similar to a human's when you compare them; they possess two arms, two legs, a pair of nostrils, two eyes, a digestive track, a jaw filled with teeth, a spinal cord and a rather normal-looking torso supported by a humanoid ribcage. It's highly suggested that Drones had multiple instances of major organs, such as multiple hearts. Drones seemed to have a low-tolerance for bright lights, so they sometimes wore goggles to eliminate this military disadvantage.
