While arts have elements, the attacks are now buffed with 4 different affinities determined by weapons wielded in battle. There 4 different types of damage – Slashing (斬), Piercing (突), Thrusting (剛), and Striking (射). Enemies may have a weakness to one particular type of damage, and can be revealed when analyzed by arts or quartz. Having the right character deliver a physical attack raises the chance of that enemy becoming "unbalanced," opening for Link Attacks with a combat link partner.
