Uncle Herbert's horn is a musical instrument that Chlorhydris had turned into a magical horn in the cartoon show episode "Can't Smurf The Music". With the spell that was cast upon it, the horn turned whatever music can be heard in the world into musical notes, leaving musical instruments sounding dead and those with singing voices as if they have lost their ability to sing. All musical notes would then fly off in the direction of the horn where they would be stored, leaving even the world dead in music-less silence. (This was emphasized with the episode's soundtrack being devoid of any music while the horn's spell was in effect.)

(This was emphasized with the episode's soundtrack being devoid of any music while the horn's spell was in effect.) In the episode, Chlorhydris created the magic horn to steal all the music from the world in order to enjoy a world without music and thus without any joy. Papa Smurf, Harmony, and Miner found out about the horn when they followed Harmony's horn playing to see where all the musical notes are flying off to, but Chlorhydris captured Papa Smurf and Harmony before they could do anything about it. Before his capture, though, Papa Smurf had found out from Chlorhydris' book which contained the spell on the horn that music is the thing that is needed to break it. As for how to produce music that could break the spell, Slouchy found out from Laconia that he still had music inside him and that he could sing his song using sign language. He and the other Smurflings, along with Smurfette, Miner, and Handy went to Chlorhydris' observatory to sing Slouchy's song by using sign language, which the evil witch ended up hearing, though she was in total disbelief that sign language could ever be used for singing. She tried to alter the spell on the horn so that it would steal the music being produced from the sign language, but the Smurfs continued to sing Slouchy's song until the horn eventually broke, releasing the music that it had stolen and thus restoring everybody's ability to sing and play music.
