| - The SWAT Truck is a vehicle appearing in Red Alert 2: New World Order. It is available if a player captures a civilian Police Station (together with the Policeman and Police Car). The exact class of the SWAT truck has been subject to some discussion during the development process. It seems certain the truck is an armored car, but there are tie-ins with the Humvee and APC. Like other light vehicles, the SWAT Truck has a variable armament, but it is most commonly encountered with a M60 and a secondary smoke barrager or grenade launcher armed with tear gas grenades. The SWAT Truck's main armament can only hit in a direct line of fire and is incapable of destroying most obstacles, so taking cover in buildings or behind walls is sufficient to avoid it. Its secondary is more of a threat, as it can fire behind walls and into trenches and even buildings. When detonating, the gas canisters deployed by it produce a lingering pillar of smoke that reduces the fighting efficiency of those affected. When promoted, it is also capable of harming the occupants of buildings directly with this weapon, similar to the Chemical warrior or Flame Tank.
