The TCU Horned Frogs football team is the intercollegiate football team of Texas Christian University. TCU played as a member of the Mountain West Conference in the NCAA's Division I Football Bowl Subdivision, but has moved to the Big 12 Conference for the 2012 season. TCU began playing football in 1896 and has a share in the split national championship of 1935 and were outright national champions in 1938. TCU has one Heisman Trophy winner, Davey O'Brien, and has had seven former players inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
