The most expensive hotel in Midtown, The Peak was run by Toben Greenwood, who was also a promising rookie for The Dodgers before falling into gambling debt and having his property seized by Moe Greene, who built a casino in the hotel basement. Greene also sent his Barzini associate, Raphael Rulandi to keep an eye on business. For many years the hotel prospered, until a raid on the casino in 1955, which was followed shortly after by the death of Moe Greene. Panicked, Rulandi and Greenwood both gave in to the Corleone family, who seized the property as their own.
