One night, while the owner Mr. Tarnower was in Hawaii, Clayface plotted to break into the building and steal funds to stabilize his decaying body. He saw a security guard leave the building for a moment and disguised himself as him to get to the main office. However, the other security guard Billy saw the same person come back and ran up, realizing that the one going to the office was an imposter. As he got there, Clayface quickly disguised himself as Mr. Tarnower, but Billy saw through his disguise when his accent was gone. Clayface subdued Billy, but Batman arrived to stop him from completing his objective.
