James Earl "Jimmy" Carter (born 1924) is a retired Confederate politician who served as President of the Confederate States from 1982 until 1988, when he was term-limited from office. He previously served two terms as Governor of Georgia and was a member of the Georgia State Senate, and was a peanut farmer. He served in the Confederate Navy in World War Two as a volunteer fighting in the Atlantic Ocean aboard a submarine. Carter was succeeded by Bruce Babbitt and was present at the signing of the North American Free Trade Agreement in 1990.
