Terry McGinnis went to Synthops to pick up a replacement combat synthoid for Bruce Wayne. He bought along his friend Howard Groote, who encountered Louie, one of the employees making illicit, customized synthoids for wealthy clients. Howard wanted a companion, so he asked Louis to make him a synthoid completely devoted to him. Howard named her Cynthia, and it didn't take long for Terry to realize Louie's unlawful actions at Synthops and stop him.
