Onatel was a seeress, a robed and cowled woman with a dark strip of cloth across her eyes. Garion and his party met her after leaving Vard's village on the Isle of Verkat. Since there was another Onatel that the party met, but in Kell, to avoid disambiguation, this Onatel is titled "Onatel of Verkat." She appeared to live in the forest. Onatel warned the party of the Deranged Hermit of the woods, who would seek to test them.
