Lenara Kahn is a Trill female, an intelligent and prominent scientist, and the current host of the Kahn symbiont. She worked for the Trill Science Ministry as did her brother, Bejal Otner. In 2372, Lenara came to Deep Space 9 to conduct field tests on creating artificial wormholes. There she met Jadzia Dax, whose past host Torias Dax was married to Lenara's past host Nilani Kahn. The two Trill females began Torias and Nilani's relationship again, risking being discovered and being exiled from Trill society for breaking the reassociation taboo, which would lead to the eventual death of the Dax and Kahn symbionts. Lenara later decided to not pursue the relationship. (DS9 episode: "Rejoined")
