Comet Medals are items in Super Mario Galaxy 2. Basically, in all of the Galaxies, there will be one Coin that stands out. It is big, and has a Star on it. This is the Comet Medal. When you collect the Comet Medal, you will be able to unlock hidden levels later in the game, such as Comet Missions. There is one in every Galaxy, NOT every Mission.
