Song Spinner was a treecat and the senior memory singer of the Bright Water Clan at time when the human settlement of the planet Sphinx began. She was among those elders of her clan who believed they could avoid the improaching humans forever, or at least keep their true intelligence and culture hidden from them. Sings Truly opposed her on the matter, to the point of openly demanding a plebiscite from the clan's adults, thus challenging the senior singer's authority. (HHA1.1: ABF)
