A castle was built by Neuberg, probably in late 13th century, but first mentioned was in 1288. In that year, after Albrech von Neuberg death, emperor Rudolph I of Bohemia handed Neuberg and whole village to lords of Plauen, as a fief. Later, castle was damaged by armada of Charles IV, because a bandits live here. In 1392, village and castle was inherited by Zedtwitz, and became a centre of whole Aš-region. In this days exist a 22 metres high castle tower only. Local council make efforts to save it, but, because of bad financial situation is a big problem.
