The Free Hugs Club is one of the school clubs in Hard Luck. The club was "on the fringe" as mentioned by Greg Heffley. When someone had a rough day, the Free Hugs Club will hug one of them, however, they did not ask for permission before hugging the subject and whether or not the person had had a rough day was judged by pure guesswork, as evidenced when two members walked up to Greg with their arms outstretched, saying "You look like you're having a rough day".
