During the early Imperial campaigns, once the city had been taken and the royal guard of the city was all that remained, surrounded by Dassem Ultor's army, the royal guard decided to use children as shields. Disgusted, Dassem had nets thrown at them to entangle them, and once the children were safely extricated, the guards were impaled and left to slowly die. They were the only ones who were so tortured by Dassem before dying in slow agony.
