Lucinda was a clerk at the circulation desk at the Miskatonic University library. She directed ISIS soldier Hafez ibn Abd-al-Rahim, using the alias "Ahmad Goma", to the Special Collections room so he could pick up the library's copy of the Necronomicon. She then alerted the head of the Special Collections, Wilbur Armitage, that "Goma" was on his way. For his part, Hafez had not wanted to deal with a "free-haired" woman. He found Lucinda homely, but it didn't help.
