Roman graduated from the School of Visual Arts before becoming a comics editor of Nickelodeon Magazine from 1998 to 2009. Many of Roman's written works have won or been nominated for comic awards. His Quicken Forbidden series was nominated for a Harvey Award, and the Teen Boat comic, which he co-created, earned him an Igantz Award.
