Nina Black was a human female, born on Earth in 2362 to Rick and Tara Black. At age 8, she accidentally created a holographic pet "rose" named "Rosie", which she subsequently kept with her at all times. A civilian non-member of Starfleet, she was assigned to the UFS Arcadia as a holographics specialist in 2386. (Star Trek: Arcadia)
