Sidney Edmond Jocelyn Ackland, CBE, known as Joss Ackland, is an English actor who has appeared in more than 130 films and numerous television roles. In 1957, Ackland joined the Old Vic, appearing alongside other notable actors including Maggie Smith, Judi Dench and Tom Courtenay. Shortly after this he began to make his mark on the big screen, appearing in films such as The Sicilian and The Hunt for Red October. He continues to act to this day.
