Tafiq Azir was a former Earth Alliance Security officer turned Private Security consultant. Tafiq worked with fellow security officer Michael Garibaldi on Europa, though he left before the events surrounding Frank Kemmer's death. By 2262 Tafiq had left EA Security and become a Private security consultant on Zhabar, the Drazi Homeworld. He arranged for his old friend Garibaldi, now head of ISA Covert Intelligence to meet with Brannagan, the pilot of the Red Star 9. While in Garibaldi's hotel room, Tafiq, not being aware of Michael's alcoholism gets them both drunk to kill time before the meeting. While Garibaldi is drowsing, Tafiq goes take care of his travel arrangements, only to be shot and killed by a Drazi government agent in the hallway.
