The Bird Smuggler is the unofficial name of a villain and boss fight from the arcade game Growl, like many arcade villains of the time he never recieved an official name. The Bird Smuggler resembled in many ways Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat but also strapped dynamite to himself, he was a brute capable of lifting an entire truck and using it to pulverise his opponent - when angered sufficiently he could also ignite the dynamite and turn himself into a human bomb. Like all the villains in the game he was a ruthless poacher driving the wild animals of Africa to extinction, he was in charge of stealing exotic birds and was smuggling them aboard a train when the hero of the story arrived to defeat him and liberate the birds.
