G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is a live-action film directed by Stephen Sommers and released on August 7, 2009. The story involves Conrad "Duke" Hauser and Wallace "Ripcord" Weems being recruited for a special forces team while in the process of trying to protect a military convoy.
