Cappelli worked in commercial jingles and as a back-up singer on albums by Sheryl Lee Ralph, Vaneese Thomas, Dionne Warwick, Bette Midler, Judy Collins, and Foreigner. On the animated series Jem!, she was the singing voice of Jem's mother and background vocals. She was heard on the film soundtrack to Beaches and in other movies. She released her only solo single, All Hung Up, in 1985.
