The Romulan Star Empire is one of the most powerful empires surrounding the Federation, with sizable influence in the Alpha Quadrant and Beta Quadrant and is made up of Romulans, Remans, some Hirogen and an unknown number of subject races with lesser status. It features as the third playable faction of Star Trek Online, added with the Legacy of Romulus upgrade in May 2013.
