The city of Alesia is eventually overthrown by the Romans, who constructed a series of trenches and palisades. In 1989, a history teacher from Princeton University mistook this account for an account involving the Siege of Masada, in which the city of Masada was overthrown by the Romans, this time constructing a ramp to overthrow the city.
