Deaths are immensely difficult foes to overcome. They can cast every spell in the game at level 4 and teleport. They can be beaten by casting Herakles and Prostasia on Ashley. Then equip a weapon with high physical affinity and attack their arms. It will take a few chains, but eventually they will fall.
