Neville Radd and George MacDonald bought drinks for Elsie Howard, Bet Lynch and Rita Littlewood when the girls went on a night out to a club in June 1976. Neville was the chattier (and drunker) of the two and tried to chat up all three women. When the night was over, George drove the party back to Elsie's house in Coronation Street. The men eagerly accepted Bet's invitation to come in for a drink but Elsie got rid of them, much to Rita's relief.
