Major Archbishop Cyril Baselios O.I.C. (August 16, 1935 – January 18, 2007) was the Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church based in Trivandrum, Kerala. He was the first Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Church, elevated by Pope John Paul II. He had ecumenical relations with the Indian Orthodox Church, Syriac Orthodox Church, Mar Thoma Church and other St. Thomas churches. He was born in Pandalam, Kerala. Baselios died suddenly of a heart attack on January 18, 2007, in Trivandrum.
