Tan Loc was a male vole enslaved on the Blacksail after Hookfin killed his family. He saved the life of Joseph the Bellmaker after the mouse had been thrown to the sea by Gabool the Wild. They befriended and became charter members of Trag. During the final battle on Terramort, he waited just outside the fortress and clashed with Hookfin. It was presumed that Tan Loc won the battle against his mortal enemy and later went on to live at Redwall Abbey.
