Ted Stankovich was one of the nominees for the "Sportswriter of the Year" Award. He was nominated for his work in the Chicago Tribune. Ray always said he was a hack. Ted also covered the Iditarod in Alaska one year and lost a toe because of the extreme temperature. He was never seen in the series, only mentioned in the Season 1 episode entitled "Recovering Pessimist".
