The Shadow Clan is clan of Ninja created and led by Murai. While training, Ryu fights his way through the Shadow Clan's fortress in the first chapter of Ninja Gaiden. Murai, who is Ryu's maternal uncle side, was expelled from the Dragon Clan for unknown reasons and started his own clan, the Shadow Clan, who are on neutral terms with the Dragon Clan.
