Meribeth is the daughter of mayor Aidon of Britain. When the Avatar first met her in Ultima IX, she'd developed a cough. After Aidon's aide Killigan had her exiled to Paws because of her illness, she was abducted by goblins. After her father failed to rescue her, the Avatar took up this cause. Seeing the horrible conditions in Paws, she decided to stay to help the unfortunate there. At their last encounter, she told the Avatar that her selfish life until then left her unfulfilled.
