The Ikarus-class troop transport was a type of combat shuttle used during the Cruentusian War. Originally designed in tandem between technicians of the Necasian Military and of the Simiyar Tech corporation, the shuttle was built for the purpose of troop insertions and for boarding purposes in space combat; however, owing to its thin armor and poor countermeasures, as well as its poor maneuverability, it was largely shelved, though a few produced models were in existence and were occasionally used for covert use. Later on, however, the United Coalition of Worlds adopted the design and upgraded it with superior armor, avionics and countermeasures, and used it largely for boarding and for troop drops. The Ikarus was usually armed with twin kinetic Gatling weapons capable of firing up to 4000
