Jonathan Cerf was President of the Harvard Lampoon Magazine, whilst majoring in English at Harvard University. Cerf was co-author of Big Bird's Red Book. A member of the rock and roll band Central Park Zoo, he later voiced one of The Beetles for Sesame Street. Cerf was the first non-Japanese player to win the World Championship for Othello, in 1980.
