Principles of War is a buff which is automatically applied to all players when they enter an arena, Battleground, or World PvP zone. This effect removes all Stats (and possibly bonus effects)[citation needed] from a character's gear. Instead of the gear's stats, a character is granted stats based on their talent specialization. The strength of these stats increases based on the character's overall Item level.
